Electronic Communication Guidelines and Policy

Emails, texts, and other electronic messages sent and received by The Maker’s Table, L.L.C. are intended for and limited to basic information about our nutritional counseling services, agreed-upon patient treatment plans, educational handouts, and appointment scheduling or modifications. Be advised that email is checked during business hours only. We aim to respond to any requests within two business days of receipt.

Please limit the level of personal information shared over electronic communications. Understandably, questions may arise before or between sessions. Simple, impersonal questions related to patient handouts or appointment confirmation are welcomed over electronic communications, however, questions that are more personal and relevant to your nutritional care are best discussed during a session, in real-time. We kindly request that you schedule a follow-up appointment or a telephone consultation with your Registered Dietitian. Insurance coverage of follow-up appointments and telephone consultations vary by plan. In the case they are not covered, we will charge you our follow-up fee, pro-rated in 10-minute increments, over the time needed. There is no charge for brief calls about appointments or other similar business. For more information about services and fees, please refer to our Payment Policy.

Please be advised that electronic communication is not completely secure and confidential, although many measures have been put into place by The Maker’s Table, L.L.C. to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Anytime information is transmitted electronically using the internet and other services or networks, it is compromised due to the nature of how the information is sent and delivered to technology devices, computers, etc. Furthermore, any information sent and received by The Maker’s Table, L.L.C. becomes a part of the patient’s legal record.
